LeBron James posts 21-13-10 triple-double as Lakers dominate Wizards
LeBron James proved age and cross-country flights are no match for greatness, delivering a masterful triple-double to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a commanding 111-88 victory over the Washington Wizards Tuesday night.
Fresh off attending Ohio State's CFP Championship triumph in Atlanta, the 39-year-old superstar showed no signs of fatigue, posting 21 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds for his ninth triple-double this season. James also etched his name deeper into NBA history, surpassing Scottie Pippen for seventh place on the all-time steals list with 2,309.
"Just another day at the office," smiled James, who recorded his 121st career triple-double. "The game slows down even more when you've played this long."
Anthony Davis dominated the paint with 29 points and 16 rebounds, while Dorian Finney-Smith added 16 points on four three-pointers. The victory pushed the Lakers to 23-18 at the season's midway point.
The struggling Wizards, led by rookie Bilal Coulibaly's 17 points, dropped their 11th straight game and fell to a dismal 1-18 on the road. Jordan Poole and Corey Kispert contributed 15 points each in the losing effort.
The night concluded with a special moment as Bronny James, LeBron's son, took the court for the final two minutes, adding another chapter to the James family's basketball legacy.
The Lakers host the rival Boston Celtics on Thursday, while Washington continues its road trip against the LA Clippers.
